Worldwide Seminars. PMI membership offers many opportunities for people to enhance their knowledge and skills. The SeminarsWorld® Program presents best-of-class seminars on a wide range of topics. Seminars are scheduled throughout the year in various locations across the globe.
Convenience of eLearning. Too busy to travel for professional development? Our new eLearning Program features valuable educational seminars that can be accessed online. You determine when and where your learning takes place.
Support for Academic Pursuit. For those who want to expand their formal education, PMI has taken the lead in establishing accreditation standards for post-secondary degrees and master certificates in programs primarily focused on project management. We also maintain a list of academic institutions offering degrees in project management.

Knowledge & Wisdom Center
The PMI James R. Snyder Center for Project Management Knowledge & Wisdom provides relevant, reliable, and timely information on the practice and profession of project management.
- Reference/Research and Current Awareness – provides literature searches and Internet search engines to supply answers to project-related questions.
- Document Delivery/Reprint – fulfills requests for copies of articles from PMI periodical literature.
PMI Educational Foundation
A cornerstone of PMI’s education and training is the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation, whose slogan is “Empowering the Future of Project Management.” This autonomous organization was created by PMI to further the development of project management for the benefit of society as a whole. The Foundation operates through donations from individuals and organizations and provides:

Professional Development & Networking
PMI Global Congresses
PMI sponsors leading-edge professional development through its Global Congresses. These events combine formal learning and networking opportunities with vendor exhibits, providing a well-rounded professional experience. By 2005, the Global Congresses will serve four major regions of the world: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), North America, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. An annual theme will be developed and each region will host a congress focused on that theme. To effectively tailor regional programs toward the interests and needs of its population, member presentations will also be incorporated.
Corporate Relationships
PMI offers a variety of opportunities for organizations (public and private enterprises, government agencies, academic institutions and other associations) to develop relationships and collaborate with PMI while supporting the advancement of the profession.
The Corporate Council is one opportunity for senior executives to dialogue, share ideas, and network with one another. Participation in the Corporate Council demonstrates an organization’s commitment to the forward movement of the project management profession. Corporate participation includes:

Professional Standards
PMI stands as a global leader in the development of standards for the practice of project management. Our premiere standards document, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), is recognized throughout the world as a standard for managing projects in today’s marketplace. The PMBOK® Guide is approved as an American National Standard (ANS) by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). We are committed to the continuous improvement and expansion of the PMBOK® Guide, as well as the development of additional standards.
Certification
PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification is the preeminent professional credential for individuals associated with project management.
Since 1984, PMI has been dedicated to developing and maintaining a rigorous, examination-based, professional certification program to advance the project management profession and to recognize the achievements of individuals. In 1999, PMI became the first organization in the world to have its Certification Program attain International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 recognition.
PMI Professional Awards Program
PMI sponsors annual awards that acknowledge individuals who bring honor and recognition to the project management profession and to PMI. There are three categories in which individuals are recognized for their sustained and significant contribution:

- Demonstration of exceptional service to the profession and to PMI
Additionally, PMI’s most prestigious award, the PMI Project of the Year, is awarded to a noteworthy project and associated team for superior performance and execution of exemplary project management.

PMI offers online career services for project management employers and practitioners.
